The Inland Revenue Division was established by virtue of the Income Tax Act 1965. Its main role is to administer tax legislation and to collect tax revenue. It is part of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury, and is responsible to the Minister of Finance.
There are a number of taxes administered by Inland Revenue Division. Each tax is guided by the acts passed by Parliament. They are Income tax, Goods Tax, Sales tax and Stamp duty, as well as Motor Vehicle registration license.
